Before joining Vine Court Chambers as part of the immigration team, Charles began his career as a solicitor, admitted to the Roll in 1998. His conversion to the Bar is an asset to the profession, where he has a significant wealth of experience in all matters relating to migration. He is able to advise at all levels of law and procedure in these complex and challenging times. His approachable style is seen by clients as reassuring.

 

Charles has a high success rate in negotiations in Public Law, known for his clear understanding of nationality issues.

 

Charles is also a highly valued barrister in the Chinese and Kuwaiti communities, for whom he continues to engage within multiple and complex cases. He has also represented clients described by the authorities in the UK as gang-members in deportation matters. 

 

Charles is registered with the Bar Council as able to accept work under the Public Access Scheme, with litigation.
